FAQS

What is a Basque cheesecake?

A Basque cheesecake, also known as a “burnt cheesecake,” originates from San Sebastián, Spain. It’s baked at a high temperature to create its signature caramelised, golden crust while keeping the centre smooth, creamy, and custard-like. With its rustic charm and rich flavour, this unique dessert has quickly gained popularity worldwide and is now a favourite for dessert lovers everywhere.
